Seems to be a rash of QJet questions of late, so I thought I'd add in one of my own.....Seems as though every time I look at my QJet I find another question....Ok here it goes......There are two holes on the acceleartor pump linkage rod. Mine has the connecting rod attached to the inner hole closest to the carb......Any reason for the rod to be connected to that hole versus the one back about a 1/2" ?????
Pretty sure you want the hole that gives the longest stroke which in turn gives you the most fuel shot. Not sure why they put two on in the first place.
Accelerator Pump Rod Installed in Wrong Hole in Pump Arm
Results in: Off-idle stumble or hesitation.
Comments: There are two holes in the accelerator pump lever arm for the lever arm rod to engage into: Inner and Outer. The outer hole produces a leaner pump shot, and can cause a lean stumble on engines requiring a robust pump shot. Corvettes and performance cars always used the rich, inner pump arm hole.
