I was wondering how Comp’s “Elite Race” Solid Roller Lifters have been holding up for those who have used them in BBC’s? Working out fine? Failures similar to other needle type solid roller lifters?
Specifically, I was wondering if they have been offering any advantage over other needle type solid roller lifters such as Comp’s Endure-X, Isky’s Redzone, or Crower’s HIPPO?
And finally the question would be, how do they compare longevity-wise to Isky’s bushing type EZX solid roller lifters?
The real deciding factor is if you are an NHRA member and compete in NHRA divisional meets.
In the back of National Dragster monthly They have contingency money. Before you buy any parts look up who is paying the most. Back when I was into drag racing the prize for winning a division 7 NHRA meet in Super comp would only be less than $1000, but I had every correct part and stickers on the car and contingency money for the first & second places was three times as much as the track prizes.

Good advice.
I have the Isky EZ rolls in both of my BBC's. My race car (565) has 350 lbs. of seat pressure, sees 8000 rpms + and has 127 runs on it. So far no issues. The 496 in the street car has a few hundred miles on them and are also, so far, trouble free.

How often you you need to check/adjust clearances ?

I check the race cars every time to the track. I run a stud mount rocker arm (most guys run shaft rockers at this level of cam shaft and rpms) but I don't have any issues. I have had the engine to 8675 rpms and everything was fine afterwards.
The street car just got running; got a few hundred miles on it, but I have had this same cam in three different engines and being a little overly **** I checked the lash every 1000 miles or so. In any solid roller application valve float is a killer. Don't skimp on springs and if you here something check it out.
Jim,
Next time you are in Socal give me a shout......still owe you a dinner at my new place. Gotta show off the garage and gun room
Alrighty then, nearly a week and no one has anything to report on these lifters. It would seem then, that they aren't very popular, or someone would have had something to say about them.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
I run the old Endurex ? with the direct oiling hole (818's) from Comp and T&D shaft rockers. Checked them last night after an entire year on the street and no movement at all.
In other words they kept there lash and I didn't have to do anything. Once you go shaft rockers you will see that they are worth every cent.
These new lifters haven't been out long enough for any feedback is my guess
