Default Polk Speakers ????????

I am thinking of putting a pair of Polk speakers in my 81 vette. I spoke to a guy at Circuit City and he said that I could get a pair of Polk 2 way GXR46 speakers for 69.95. He also said that they are good speakers and they fit right into the dash with no modifications at all. Since this is all I have to spend right now I was wondering if anyone has used these speakers before and are they any good?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Richard - Polks are great speakers and can take some power should you decide to put an amp behind them, or they sound great right with the stock radio. Unless you are in a super hurry, I would check out Epinions.com and see if anyone is selling these for a lesser price - you might find them on eBay also. I got a pair for $30. Mine are in a '71, but I assume the dash speaker setup is similar. The Polks are thinner than the stock speakers and fit better.

I put the Polk MoMo 6.5's in the rear, you need alot of power but they sound great. Bought mine on eBay for $225 had to make a box for them. I put Alpines in the front to where the OEM ones would have gone if my car had come with a radio.
