Ok. I'm just finished a build on my 68 327 and have added an HEI wirh tach drive. Looking at my Haynes manual there are two sets of firing orders....one for a v8 with points style distributor and one for the HEI distributor years.
My Question: Should i be concerned with the HEI firing order just because I upgraded to HEI or do I stick with the original firing order from my old points distributor?
Just need to add gas after this and see if she starts....
As a side note I am providing 12V to new distributor from the fuse box ING..any problems with that? Tracing the resistance wire for the old coil is like looking at needle in a hay stack.
The firing order doesn't change. But on the HEI cap #1 cyl starts 1 position off from the points cap. The chilton manual shows this a little better. Happy 4-th!!!
