i just painted my calipers and they look fabulous.. i will have a picture for you guys to judge them. when i had then rebuilt i never put the springs in them :smash: so iif any of you guys need these caliper springs just message me and you can have them for the shipping!!! for some reason i only have 5 of them.....started with 8  these are from the rear calipers!!
Well, the idea of the springs is to keep the pads flush up against the rotor.
If they actually work (and that's a big if, several people have said they don't see how they could), the springs would have the following effect:
1) Increased brake drag
2) Increased air pumping due to pistons/pad following the rotor runout closely
3) Decreased pedal travel on initial brake application
Removing the springs may cause increased pedal travel on initial application with a possible "clunk" as the pads take up the slack. I haven't verified this; I removed the springs from my calipers but haven't gotten them put back together and on the car yet. I also painted them gloss black (anything would look better than rusty cast iron IMO).

I can't wait to see your freshly painted calipers. What Color? Pics? Now you are almost ready to order a set of Centerline Hellcats? :yesnod:

I have the Zero Tolerance pistons installed in my calipers. The instructions said to leave out the springs. I don't notice any delay in braking. It is possible that you will hear a "clicking" sound at slow speeds. That sound is the pads rocking on the pins.
