You can do serious trannys if you have enough money. I really looked into sequential shifting road racing types. But at $8500 for the box and multi plate small diameter clutches your into it another $2500.
So my more practical TKO 600 kit from Kiesler was only $4700 for the auto to manual conversion. By the time it was in it was about $6000
The road race tko 600 with .82 od is the way to go. Something like mid $2000 The add on blow proof bell housing and nice internals it is $1500 or less.
If you only need a 4 speed "TEX racing" are great. Order any gear ratio.
ive spotted a really nice box, the T56 Magnum 6-Speed, can handle 700lb/ft, there's a company doing one that has been beefed up, that can handle 1100lb/ft, that would really suit me
Check with D&D Performance. They have a Chevy/Viper T56 that works with a standard bellhousing, your original clutch and linkage, mechanical speedometer and stock shifter location. Good for 750 FT/LBS of torque or more. http://www.ddperformance.com/shop/pr...Path=107_92_94
