Rear end leak ? ? Question
Ok so I have a question... I have a small drip at the rear end, I think its the rear end cover gasket, ok so now for the question..
How far does the rear have to come apart to do the gasket. ?
I jsut had the rear gone thru 1.5 yrs ago so it shouldn be leaking,,,
im sure my shop will take care of me, but ..... Id like to upgrade to some new gears and wondering how far into the rear they are going to get to do the seal...might be worth the gear swap at the same time..

OK thats what I was thinking,,,, Just want to have my ducks in a row when i call and say that while your in there fixing my leaky rear end you did, I want my new gears istalled...LOL..He owes me some time as it is anyway....
Guess I need to get this 200r rebuilt asap maybe get the entire job done....While im at it...LOL
Looking at some richmond gears,,, 3.73
I have my grand national 200r in the garage..
Thoae 10 bolt gears will not fit the Corvette, they are for the standard type rear. The Corvette 10 bolt is specific and needs Corvette gears, the ywill be a little more expensive due to them saying Corvette on them.

I cant wait....
And then after this swap out ill be doing the LT-4 hot cam package......
Man will the car be fun to drive then.....
The 3.55 is actually a personal favorite of mine for use with a number of manual boxes, but with your particular ratios and steps the 3.73 just makes more sense.
And, yes, you definitely need Corvette specific 10-bolt gears.

US Gears 3.73s from Tom's Differentials. Was around $275 bucks when I bought mine in 2009. This was the first diff I rebuilt, but I thought they were easy to set up & pattern, and they run quiet
