Default Radiator support seal fasteners?

I'm replacing my radiator. I have the radiator out, and have a new seal kit to install.

I've removed the old seals, but I can't figure out how to remove the fasteners. Does anyone know how to get the fasteners out of the radiator support?

Thanks

Some of mine were plastic and some were metal.Im pretty sure the metal ones were original. They are pressed in.I took a pair of pliers and pulled the metal ones out.Ordered all new seals and the fasteners that go in it.Hard to salvage them.Let me add that that's on a 71.

Thanks,

I managed to get one out using brute force, and was able to see how they work. My eyes aren't the greatest, so I wasn't able to see them very good while they were on the car.

Below is a picture for future reference, you can see how the fastener will compress from the sides, and release. You need to pull the fastener out as much as possible, and then compress the sides as much as possible, and they will release. Using small needlenose pliers helps in being able to compress the sides as close to the heads as possible.

Great use of lighting to highlight the piece in that photo. Good contrast.

I chose to replace my fasteners with black plastic push-in units that are easily found at the local auto parts store. Save on future rust issues and worked like a champ. Cheap too.
