im going to be painting my heads/block in por15 soon, but i have a question about the prep on the heads.
i have a por15 engine kit (degreaser, metal ready, por15, enamel). is it ok if i etch, por, and paint the heads on the intake/heads mating surface? what about on the exhaust manifold mating surface?
On the exhausts, just mask of the entire flat mating surface with masking tape, trim with an exacto knife. On the intake side, put the gasket on the head with a couple of bolts to hold it in place, and scribe the outline with a lead pencil or something similar. Mask off about 1/8" inside this line, and paint. It'll look good, and still have plenty of nice, clean gasket mating surface.

Edit: Mask off the valve cover gasket surface, too.
