Default Battery properly installed

Does anyone have a pic of the battery installed in an '80, maybe the empty box showing the hold down clamp or whatever, and then a pic with the battery installed.

A small 2x4 has worked fine for 15 years but I want to install it correctly now

Wayne I've been using this with no issues for many years. You might be able to find it locally at an auto parts store:

Thanks Steve, there are pics there that show what's needed. I have the front retaining piece and I have that hold down clamp in the back but there is nothing there at the back to bolt the clamp to and I don't suppose that's gonna be easy to find.

Mike I might have to use a solution like yours, looks like you just drill two holes in the bottom of the box for those brackets ?

I have that, what I don't have is any thing to bolt the hold down clamp to in the back of the box facing toward the rear, I have a big hole there, looks factory, never seen bubba making anything so round

I bought the Canadian tire hold down kit, will I lose any points if I drill two holes in the battery box

I guess that's why I wanted a pic. The hole is 2 inches in diameter. There is nothing at the back of the battery for that hold down clamp to bolt to. I have that hold down clamp. The picture looks like there are 2 blocks ?
and a reinforcement for under the box part number 173014, maybe I still have that under there.

I know someone had a pic of the empty box and then with the battery properly fitted. I would rather do it the correct way, looks like I have most of the parts, just don't know how they fit together

Well one thing I know with those types of battery hold downs you have to have a battery with exact factory specs on outside, an Optima Red Top ain't gonna work
