When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.
We may not always get things done real quickly around here, but we do get them done eventually! A little over a year ago I announced that Corvetteforum would be starting a portal project to document Corvette links on the web.
It's finally ready to go! Members may add links to the database. These can be commercial links or not-for profit sites. The idea is to have an extremely comprehensive list of Corvette sites on the web.
It's up to the membership to make this happen. Take a look at the new links area and add some links. You can even suggest new categories in case we are missing some. Just navigate to the appropriate category and click on 'Add Link' or 'Suggest Category' at the bottom of the page.
Re: New Corvetteforum Links Database Online! (1979toy)
The links are screened first. We don't need any trolls posting links to ****.
You shouldn't have to logon to view the links or to suggest them. You will need to be logged in if you want to rate a link though. If you are logged into the forum you shouldn't need to logon over there at all.
If there is a bug please give me the symptoms and I'll look into it. I expect that we will need to squash a few. :)
Re: New Corvetteforum Links Database Online! (Troy Roberts)
I first logged on using the link in your post above. I got the log in screen on the top right so I got out and clicked on the link from the forum, where I was logged on, and still got the log on thing in the upper right. Left me a bit baffled about weather I should use my forum password or the homepage password since I knew that I was looged to the forum. The forum password worked. Just went back there and found that it at least remembered my login.
Re: New Corvetteforum Links Database Online! (1979toy)
I've been testing it a bit. It seems that you do need to login over there also. We had some custom work done to tie that system in with the corvetteforum user database. We'd eventually like to have everything under one system.
You don't need to login over there unelss you are going to rate a link though. You should be able to submit one without being logged in.
Re: New Corvetteforum Links Database Online! (Troy Roberts)
I didn't try just looking since I wanted to add some sites. Now that I've logged on with I.E. it's going to keep my information so I can't check that either.
The poor guy that's got to review all of our submissions should get combat pay. It'll get rough when somebody feels slighted because "their" site hasn't been added yet.
Re: New Corvetteforum Links Database Online! (gdh)
This is a great idea! The next best thing since the Corvette Forum itself. Now I won't need a favorites list...lol. No really though this is awesome, maybe when the add a link fury slows down I'll put in a bunch of the links I have for classified ads. One question though: do they have to be corvettes only, or can it be like http://www.hemming.com where there are a lot of different kinds of cars?
Re: New Corvetteforum Links Database Online! (rambler323)
It's ok to have something like Hemmings. I may end up trying to sort them so that the more directly Corvette related ones go to the top if it gets too crowded.
There are plenty of links that are not to Corvette specific websites that are still helpful to Corvette owners. :)
