Default Sealing Compound, Cement, Adhesive Help

I am at that stage in my 71 restoration where I am putting the window trim together and it calls for Sealing Compound 157 (9981338) and Cement 187 (9985173). Anyone know where these can be found or suitable substitutes may be located? Always fun chasing down 40 year old information for sure.
Any help is appreciated.

Hey David-

One thing in there is what we call strip caulk... the other I'm a bit lost on and will need to check the AIM to see which one is which.

There is a thin seal between the pillar retainer and the windshield molding. About the closest I've come to this is what is called Channel tape.

I've got to run out.. but as soon as I get back I'll take a look. 3M makes the strip caulk which is black and not the grayish looking color but it works just the same.

Another product we use in the windshield area is what is called "Auto Bedding" Compound. Or as we call it... No Dry! and you guessed it.. it won't dry.. but makes a mess everywhere. I'll see if I can get you some 3m numbers on this stuff when I return.

For the double post trim I use double sided 3M 03609 Molding Tape
For the stainless header I just use the strip caulk 3M 08578
Local paint jobber.

You don't want any adhesive so strong that damage to the stainless will result with future removal.

3M Auto Bedding and Glazing Compound-8509 This stuff works great David. But it is very messy. It never dries and is great on the windshield pillar to windshield moldings. You only put a tiny bit on but it helps the seal.

I also use this on the front and back of the windshield upper frame clips screws. It makes sure water won't pass the screw.

Noonie picked up my slack on the other numbers... I think I would use his molding tape over channel tape... since it will stick without anything added. It is pretty much the same stuff and after a re-think... I'll have to try that myself.
