My idle speed is set up to 900 rpms. When I turn on the ac (compressor clutch engages and my electric fan goes in to HIGH speed) the rpm drops from 900 to around 500 and the car bearly idles.
Any suggestions to fix the problem?

Ps. I have build 355 with 6 speed and 100amp alternator.
I forgot to add. I have 670 holley street avanger and 282hr comp cam.
What you have is normal. It takes power to turn that compressor and a big load to the alternator when that fan kicks in. In stock form there was a step up solenoid on the carb that would open the butterflies some when the air was turned on. Either fine a stock one or I believe Holley even had one in their acc. cat.
