Default Dynomax Super turbo question.

I am in the process of purchasing mufflers for the vette. I like the price of the dynomax super turbos at 37$ each, however they look like they are the fiberglass filled style and not welded like the flowmasters are inside. Is this the case? Dont the welded mufflers flow better then the glass packed ones do?-TK

I've been running them on my 78 for four years. They have a MUCH mellower sound than the Flowmasters. I'll be using them on my 70 also.

I put a set on last year on my '79 and I think that I made a very good decision on them. They are just louder than stock without alot of resonance or ear splitting noice. I have noticed they have gotten just a bit louder, but not bad at all. As for flowing...not sure....have heard good about both flowmaster and dynomax, but I can tell you I noticed a big improvement over stock! (replaced original cat converter too)

Hmm..I think it is summit. around 37$ each.
I know you guys may let me have it on this one...but who makes the mufflers for the new Mustang Cobras. I really like that tone.-TK

Hey Kirby;

What do you mean by welded inside. The cases and the components look to
be spot welded together... I really don't know what's inside for
baffling. Their literature seems to indicate they have a lower back-pressure
than the flowmasters.

They do sound good - now if I could get the HP on the motor upgraded as
easily.

I think Dynomax also has an UltraFlow, which is welded.

Yep and for that price I would buy the Flowmaster delta flows and be done with it.-Tk

Sorry,
I haven't checked price in quite awhile. I just knew the site address so posted it for you. Notice that I have flowmasters after much research and debate. ;) But I wanted to let you make your own decisions.

Thought I would pass this on to you. One of our forum members who builds race engines has recommended the Dynomax Super Turbos because of their quality construction and the fact that they use mandrel bend tubing.

Which flowmasters did you go with?
DeltaFlow 50's. But I have true dual exhaust, no cats, and an H-pipe. If you have a cat, the DeltaFlow 40's would probably have a better sound.

We put on the Delta 40's on our's and they sound just right to us. Deeper tone, but not loud. We're very happy with them
