Default brake caliper bleed screw

Anyone ever try to remove a broken bleeder screw and was able to ?

how did you do it ?

I have three that have broken off and I cannot afford new calipers at this time. Anyone have any used calipers ?

I got one out just yesterday. It was the first time in my life I had success, or I should say I may have been successful because I don't know if I screwed up the seat in the process. I tried using easy outs many times but they usually just break. Yesterday I drilled progressively bigger holes until the remaining portion of the bleeder was so thin that I could use a very small punch to push it out of the threads.

Maybe someone else has a better idea.

That actually is the way to do it. Carefully drill the center hole until you can pick the threads. Do not drill completely to the tip. You will notice that the bleeder screw has a necked area between the threads and the tip. When you pick the threads the tip will fall out.

When you finish the job, replace them with stainless steel bleeders.

When you finish the job, replace them with stainless steel bleeders. I replaced mine over 20 years ago and have never had a problem with them.
