Just started to replace rear body mounts. Problems Problems
After cutting off the top of the bolts and soaking them with PB Blaster, I found that the pocket that holds them in place are broken clear though. The bottom braket was completely rusted out and the fiberglass could not support the weight. Is there anyway to fix the pocket?
Re: Just started to replace rear body mounts. Problems Problems (redwingvette)
I went thru this on my '77. I replaced #4 frame brackets and body mounts (sheetmetal) and put in polyurethane bushings.
Zip Products has body mount bracket #4 $39. per side
body mount reinforcement #4 $40. per side
nut cage w/ rivets $8. per side
You will need new bushings also, they have polyurethane set for $49.95

Thanks, I didn't know if I could buy the part with the nuts that goes on the inside behind the rear wheels and if it covered the "Hole" that is there now. It is at least 3' square.
I will be heading to my local Vette parts place on Monday.
