Default Parking brake retaining spring tool

Does anyone have a better photo of this tool? I read that several of you guys have made it from a flat screwdriver and I wanted to do the same thing.
Also:
(1) is it designed to rotate the pin or the plate?
(2) what is the purpose of the side notch?
(3) what is the dimension of the blade & slot?

Parking brake component repair/replacement is a "Pain in the Azz" project!!

I believe that tool is used to hook the extension spring, not the hold down spring. I used to use a tool like that years ago to hook up the headlight springs.

Here's mine...

I used the end to adjust the parking brake adjuster when I put the rotors back on. You could make one out of a cheap screwdriver. I'm not sure what the hook one is for though.

It has been said a headlight spring tool works well for the top spring which is the main problem if the lower spring is put on first.
