Starter Gemlin- HELP!
I'm on my third starter (rebuild) and for reasons I can't seem to track down, I keep having problems. Everything will be fine for several days and suddenly NOTHING! Not even a key buzzer. Sometimes I can just push it a few feet and it starts right up. Other times I reach under and wiggle some wires or tap on the side of the starter and it starts right up. Still other times I'll hook up jumper cables and it fires right over. Everything will be fine for several days and then the gremlin shows up again - This thing is driving me nuts! Do I have a bad spot on the armiture still, a wiring issue or.....??????

First thing I would check is the ground cable from the battery to the frame. Clean the connection on both ends. Also clean the connection on the positive cable at the battery and the starter.

I had a problem and it was the wire from the ignition switch to the starter now I have a 65 but you may look at that. the wire that was used was to thin. and bad conection at the switch.
