Default Another Stupid Big block Question

I don't see an opening for a water temp sensor in my Canfield heads. Is there any other place to put one on a big block or am I officially screwed on this one?

If you heads are not drilled and tapped for a water temp sensor, then you'll need to relocate it to your intake manifold. Theoretically it may have slightly different (cooler?) readings because of distance from heat source, however that is probably negligible in real life. If you cannot fit it in the actual intak emanifold itself, you can buy thermo necks with 3/8 - 1/2 NPT fittings, I have a couple, email me for pictures if you are interested, I can even sell you one. I think there is one in my engine pics ( see my sig).

My intake has a few extra holes where I could put it. Is it really wise to put it in the intake though? How much cooler of a reading are we talking about.

I'll double check the heads, but I'm sure they don't have temp sensor holes. I wonder why they did that.
