EGR/EFE SWITCHES

EGR/EFE SWITCHES
Can someone tell me what are the plastic pieces at the ends of the emission hoses that connect to the EGR/EFE switches? What is their function and where do you buy them? On my "80" the hoses connect directly to the switches,is this ok?

I'm talking about the other end of the hose where they connect in the intake manifold and thermostate. In between the temperature control switch and the end of the emission hose.

If you're talking about the rubber moulded bit that joins the hoses to the TVS then I don't know!! I Just connected the hoses directly onto the switch with no problems.

If I remember right, they are temperature activated switches (which is why they are located in the thermostat housing). As for where to get them, I found mine at a local AC Delco dealer when I lived in Colorado a couple of years ago. Call your local Chevy dealer, if they don't have it, they should know who does. That's how I found the AC Delco dealer. Hope this helped a little. Good luck.
