Just got the new Royal Purple HPS (High Performance Street), in 5W30 viscosity. It has increased levels of ZDDP for flat tappet protection as well as bronze distributor gear protection in flat tappet or roller motors. I also sent a sample in for Lab testing, and as soon as the results come back, I'll post them.
I've used Royal Purple for years with great success, but their normal API SL oil has reduced ZDDP levels for modern cat equipped cars, and their super killer XPR Racing oil costs a whopping $16.00 per quart at Summit. I got the new HPS oil from Summit on-line for $10.00 per quart, which is only a little more than RP's API SL oil sold in Auto Parts Stores.
I'm not exactly sure how I got the new oil for only $10.00 per quart, since their website listed it for $13.00 per quart. I can only assume because I ordered it on-line directly and did not involve any of their people on the phone, that I got a better price. Their was no mention of a discount, but that is how it ended up being priced. Maybe it would work for others as well.
