Default Cruise control and high beam issues

I am in the process of an interior renovation on my 78 C3. While the carpet and seat backs seem to be going along smoothly, I have other issues that I want to take care of while I have things torn apart.

1. The cruise control will not work.
2. The high beam switch (signal switch) will not work. The signals work but when I try to turn off the high beams the signal arm does not "click" as I would guess it should.

Would these two items be related? Maybe a bad turn signal lever? I wanted to try to remove the steering wheel column shroud to paint it but have no idea how to take it off. If I could get it off maybe I could fix the other issues. Maybe just a disconnected wire?? HELP!

Default Did have the same issues....

Hey guys
I have an 1980 and had the same problems.
Highbeam worked but no "click"... Had to hold on to the stick to stay in that mode.

I'm far from being a mecanic but I remembered fixing it myself.
Remove the steering wheel and colars and you will be able to have access to the "spring loaded plastic" part that causes the highbeam to stay in that mode. I didn't have to buy any parts and fixed that problem.

As far for the cruise control, use the "search" tab with key words "cruise control" There are TONS of threads on this topic.
Look for threads with pictures to make sure you still have ALL your components. I was missing the small rod attached to the vacuum and going to the carb.
Then I securely jacked the rear end up and tried the CC to see if it engaged. It did but needed some adjustments. I ended up buying a new transducer and ALL is working great ! Transducer should be located on top of your driver's side fender under/near the break master cylinder.

Be patient and someone will add an answer and will be more technical...
I love cruising on the CC and relaxing with both knees up
