Default Rear Wheel Studs

How to Replace rear wheel studs on a stock 1981. Do you remove the wheel , Caliper, Rotor and then will there be a hole in the backing plate to pound the old studs out and reinstall new studs.
I am hoping this will be the way to do it.
I need new studs and lug nuts.
All the lug nuts came off while driving and luckily it did not rip the rear fender off. 1 stud is broken off and one other has the threads all boogered up want to replace all of them all of the lug nuts are gone.

The problem is there is NO hole in the backing plate so you have to make one.
Press the studs out don't pound them out.

Once the new studs are started use washers to pull them into place.

Just what I did NOT want to hear...
Will use a large socket and a big C clamp to press them in and out.

When I had to replace 1 on my '69 I had to install it from the 6'o clock position with the adjuster for the parking brake removed. I also had to dimple the backing plate a small amount in order to get the stud into the hole.
I did pound the broken stud out with no ill effects.
Good Luck!
