Coolant capacity
Whats the coolant capacity for a 69 427?

Should be in your owner's manual. I always have two gallons on hand if I'm doing a full fill on my 327/300 with 4 row Harrison.

a bone dry engine will take 5 to 6 gallons of liquid

Yep, I got a 454 with Dewitts rad and I thought for sure I had a hole in the block or rad after it consumed 5 + gallons, not including the reserve tank. Did 60% distilled water, 40% coolant.
