Power antenna fail

Power antenna fail
I replaced my power antenna and relay last October and it quit yesterday on the way home from work.
It's stuck in the down position. The antenna is the expensive factory replacement style. Is it possible that the mast cable broke and are these an easy fix? The aftermarket type of power antenna is about half price. I don't like that it doesn't fit flush but if it's a better antenna I'll overlook that issue.
I haven't done any troubleshooting yet so I'm looking for some ideas. The original antenna and relay were both bad when I bought the car last year.

Tally Ho, Yes Sir; there is a guy on here, but I can't make out his name on the return mail, Kapasa or something like that. He advertises with used & new antennas on this forum all the time. Have a great one. Gene
