Nope. Simple job. Take the cable off, loosen one bolt, and slip the gear out of the tail shaft housing. There is either a pin or a clip that keeps the gear in place. I'm relating this from memory, so I may have missed a step but it really is a simple job. Jacking the car up high enough to do it is the hard part.

Very easy. Pull driveshaft, disconect speedo cable, pull bullit w/ driven gear, 4 bolts on tail shaft, clip holds drive gear in place.

Sounds pretty easy! Do you know a special trick for getting the tail housing off without removing the transmission from a Corvette first?

Good luck... GUSTO

Remove the driveshaft in order to remove the tailhousing.

Take a good look at the transmission mount before you get ready to perform this task. It gives you a little more room to work with the speedometer cable if you disconnect the tranny mount and jack the tranny up a little, so, if your tranny mount looks a little worn out, ya might as well install a new one while you are down there.
