Default 78 restoration

Well it took awhile but I got the frame down to nothing. I am getting ready to replace both #4 body mounts and remove the rest of a bolt I cut off in the #3L body mount and then off to get poweder coated. I would really like some mentors outthere to maybe watch my progress and input wise information my way. Thanks all that help.

Before you powder coat that puppy look it over real carefully for any rust or cracked welds.

Also post your objective for the restoration...original vs modified or something in between?

Default 78 restoration

Thanks. This will be a resto-mod. I plan to do a ls2 swap (still reseraching what that is going to take besides money, custom mounts, shimming and so on), convert it to a manual shift and custom interior carpet and seats. The rest I am going to leave as is varying in some degree or something unexpected comes up. As far as the poweder coat, I have been quoated 350 for the frame. Sounds like a good deal. And thanks about the inspection of the frame, I have had three or four guys with restoration experience look at the frame and they all agree, bead blast, make sure all is as expected and then bead again followed by poweder coat. This is after I fix the frame as I mentioned before.

Default LS6 Swap

Well I have powder coated the suspension and frame, waiting on my parts to come back with new ball joint and bushings, and I bought a 2005 CTS-V LS6 engine with drive shaft, T56, all accesories, MAF and computer. I will be getting the suspension in first thing, then on to brakes and fuel lines. Then the engine. Anyone have a step by step for the swap? I loved the body removal step by step. Thanks everyone. I still cant believe I am doing this!!
