I need to rebuild the front of my '78 and would like to find out if anyone knows where a good place to get a kit is. I'd like to get a kit that has everything that should be replaced, so I don't have to go looking for extra parts later, and has poly bushings. So if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.
Look on the right of this page, and click on the Resto Store (Zip). They seem to have the best prices, and they give a discount to forum members to boot.
got mine from riks which i am in the process of doing now 168.00 + s&h
4 b-joints, 4 tie rod ends, idler arm, a-arm bushings upper and lower and stablizer link kit (rubber bushings)
I purchased a front-end kit from Muskegon Brake last summer. The parts were USA-made by Dana/McQuay-Norris and I am very satisfied with the outcome. I chose rubber bushings and I believe the price was $164.95 or so. Others will advise you to go poly and that is a choice you will have to make.
Just a note of caution from a recent post from a fellow in Sweden or Norway. He ordered from a major Corvette catalogue supplier and found the components were manufactured in India. I do not have knowledge of the quality of Indian steel or rubber components but....my inclination would be to shy away. http://www.muskegonbrake.com/
Ive done several cars(o.k. all Pontiacs but they have 'Vette stuff too) with PST stuff. They have Polygraphite bushings, which is basically polyurethane with graphite impregnated into it, in other words no squeeks. They are a little more expensive but their kits are very comprehensive and high quality stuff. Good luck, some of the bushings are a PITA! :smash:
