Removing Old heat riser
I want to remove that old heat riser on the drive side of the engine.. it has four bolts on the top of it that easily come off and two big ones on the side that look like they go into the exhaust manifold... is it safe to take these bolts out.. do i just remove them or put them back after i take the heat riser off?

The heat riser control valve is on the passenger side between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe. I believe you are referring to the heat stove cover on the driver's side. I have never attempted to take mine off but experience tells me penetrating oil, let sit for several days and give those bolts a try.

AAAAAAAllllright.. after too many curse words and some wd-40 i got that stupid thing off.. There are these two screws that are on the underside of it that are really hard to get at and require some aquard body positions to undo :crazy: but it's off at looks much better
