Spark Plug Wires keep burning out by manifold
Anyone else run into this issue? I bought some performance cables from Ecklers but one or two of them got burned by the manifold too.
Also, note that the wires themselves aren't getting burned anymore since they are clipped to the valve cover-it's the socket near the spark plugs.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have a 79 with headers but my wires always burn when they would touch the headers. Try something like this from advance auto. Other corvette (willcox/CA/....) sell them also.

I was going through a couple sets of wires a year, even with fiberglass boot socks. The boots would crack and the spark would arc to the headers. Accel ceramic boot wires worked for me.
I since switched to ceramic coated headers too, so that gave me a couple more years of service on the wires. Accel's are a bit pricey but worth it IMO.

i have been running the same set of boots protectors for over a year now with no problem. my wires burnt out at a few of the elbows in a matter of months so i had to do something. I even used some of the extra for along the wires where it gets hot. works a treat.

Route the wires below the headers or manifolds like was stock. I haven't ever had a problem with the stock routing!

Is that an aftermarket exhaust manifold? I think they burned out again so I think thats the root cause here, the one I have is probably just too tight.
