Side Mirrors -- How to?
How do you get to the nuts to take off the side mirrors on a 78? I searched earlier and found the topic, with the suggestion to take the door panel off and roll the windows all the way up, but that didn't work (completely blocks the nuts)..... First, I had tried it with the window down, but I can't figure out how to get any kind of tool on the nuts, especially the rear one. Does this call for a special tool or do I need to take more of the door apart??? I'm sure there's an easy explanation, that I'm just to simple to get.... :D

I can get at mine with the window up. I just used a "wobble head" on my ratchet. If you can't, then you will have to take out the glass. That would be aq PITA :eek:

I got mine out (I have a 79) by rolling the window all the way down, then after taking the door panel off, I loosened the window reg screws. Then if you pull back a bit on the little bit of window that still sticks up, you can get at the screws with a ratchet and a wobble extension. Worked for me.
