Is removal and replacement of the fan and clutch and somewhat simple job. Anything that is a pita , I let a mechanic do but I've done the tank fuel pump and some others.
Doesn't look like much. Just remove and replace? or are their hidden tricks?
Its sorta unusual for a clutch to just quit and the fan to stand still so look around a bit and make sure nothing else is going on.
(i read your other thread)
If the fan clutch is wobbly, or the fan is bent, and creating enough vibration, it can shorten the life of the water pump bearing and seal. That can certainly make noise. You probably got it in time, though. Still, look it over carefully while you have it apart.
It may make removal easier if you unbolt the fan from the clutch. But you'll still remove them together.
Just makes it easier to clear the shroud/front of motor if the fan and clutch are seperated first.
