Default Leaking caliper

Is it normal that the brake piston in the calipers leak when I try to press the pistons back into the calipers when I am changing the brake pads?

If you do not take the cover off the master cylinder before you force the pistons back, the fluid may leak past the cover gasket or the piston seals. Before pushing the pistons back remove the MC cover and poss. remove some fluid. Four pistons that have been pushed out to compensate for worn out pads can displace alot of fluid when pushed back. After pushing back the pistons and changing the pads, you can set the MC to the proper level. If your calipers are original, with cast iron bores they may be pitted, causing the leaks. mike...

Mike,
They are not original they are the rebuilt updated ones with SS liners. So I should clean them and reinstall them?

If they do not leak after you install new pads, I would run them. mike...

Ok I will reinstall them, I hope you are right it will save me some huge head aches. I don't want to open the braking system, seams that people have a problem with the bleeding part.

If they leak and you want to rebuild them it is not that big of a deal. I gravity bled mine without any problems. Link shows how I rebuilt them. mike...
