The problem with CM steel is heat treating. CM saves weight, but it is not really made to be put in a car. It is more for a cage built and put the body on it.
At the track we weld CM cracked frame rails and then hook big arc welder electrodes to each side and bring the whole section up to temp to anneal the metal
