Default ooops. killed my solenoid ?

i went to take the POS battery cable off my starter....it was a little stuck due to age.....i heard a nice loud CRACK and the stud seems a little loose.

i am assuming trying to start the car would be a mistake and i need to pull that solenoid....what do you think i broke ?

on the positive side of things i DID get the motor mount on !

The main power stud on the solenoid is just mounted in plastic.
They're pretty easy to break. Fortunately they're also pretty cheap..

Thanks. I feel better. Never broke one before. Glad I had the battery disconnected like a good boy. I was planning on upgrading to a mini starter.....maybe sooner than later.

That is an understatement, I do a lot of electrical work and sometimes I work with the battery connected when I shouldn't BUT I never ever work at the starter with the battery connected.Thumbs up to to you it only takes 30 seconds to remove the neg cable,be safe.

Oh and I've broken my fair share of solenoids.

One of those quick disconnect battery connectors (the knife switch type or otherwise) makes it easier to be a "good boy" too!

Yeah. I'm an electrical idiot. I've learned the hard way. Let's just say I have a healthy respect for current.

Not to the point where you could call me "sparky" though...
