Default New Temp gauge!

When I installed the aluminum heads on my 75 i lost my location for sending unit. I put it in the in take but was getting funky reads. I ordered the new replacement sending unit from Eckler's. Now I'm reading very low temps. I know there are a lot of posts about this but none of them say if they installed the aftermarket gauge also and did this help. Thanks in advance. I'm gonna check temp with a temp gun tomorrow.

This has been posted several times. The factory gauges read a little on the low side on most C3's, I know my '81 does. I keep my infrared temp gun with my and shoot at different points on the radiator and intake every so often. My gauge is about 15 degrees low. You can certainly install a mechanical temp gauge somewhere or retrofit it in to your factory cluster.
