I emptied the old charcoal granules from the canister, soaked it in degreaser, washed and blew it dry.
I went to the local pet shop and picked up some granulated charcoal (used in aquariums), refiled it, new fiber filter and.......IT SEAMS TO WORK! I used to have a potent raw gasoline smell after a 10 min. ride. Tonight it smelled spring time fresh!! :yesnod:
Call me Bubba, but I needed to save the $50 bucks for better things than a plastic can with charcoal in it.
Would that 50 bucks be going into Yoders pocket this weekend? :D I'd say that's a good repair job, not a bubba job....unless you put it all together with duct-tape :jester
Scott,
You should be a mind reader :D At least $50 dollars. I downloaded their menu, and have all meals and desserts already pick out! :jester :blueangel:

Hats off to you, when I started to take the vette apart with the thought of replacing the parts with new or rebuilt after a second look it is amazing what one can do with cleaning and oiling or painting the parts, You save a ton of money and the parts always fit. If my canister needs replacing I will do the same.
