How to paint the ZZ4?

I was just wondering since my motor should get here some time in the next two weeks. Should I paint the whole thing chevy orange? Paint all but the aluminum heads and intake? or Leave it as it is?

Paint it chevy orange! Or maybe the same color of your car which seems to be in recently. But dont paint the heads or the intake. If you are using your old water pump and it looks a little old, you could paint it orange as well.. :cheers:

My choice would be Chevy orange. I painted my original 1980 sb blue because that's the way it came from the factory. Blue is boring, orange is hot.

I was going to paint my block Chevy orange. I even bought 2 cans of paint to do it but when my engine got here I just wanted it installed so I put it in as is. I thought it would be a waste of time preping it for paint and the results might not be up to snuff. There is a little of pererving oil on a lot of the parts and I didn't want to take the time to clean everything.

Might I suggest using a two part epoxy or por-15 no matter what color you go with. The bug bomb spray cans have so little solids in them that you will probably have a good deal of fade and breakdown fairly quickle. Just my .02.
