The Previous Owners been in here Too!!
I am working on my horn, I pull the wheel off and get down inside the column, all the way to the turn signal switch and there he's been....parts missing, other parts replaced with just anything he had laying around. This is getting aggravating.

I look at the bunch of crap I've taken out, look at and research Jim Shea's papers, called willcox and talked to them, EVEN buy myself a new steering wheel (because I deserve it) along with all the parts I am sure I'm missing.
This is where I need JIM'S help. JIM if your out there.....I replaced the turn signal switch because the little brass plunger for the horn was missing from it(PO must of needed it for something else) and I was that deep, so why not. I line all my parts up,new and old and start reassembly. I get stopped at my next step. Something else is missing! What is suppose to be under the heavy spring??? I know it can't set on the bearing, or does it? And my next question is , Does the cancel cam sit on the spring? To me, that flimsy piece of $50 plastic shouldn't be tangling with that big, heavy spring. Especially when I have to push down to get the clip on the steering lock. But if it does ,it does.
Before everyone goes sending me links and diagrams, I have every diagram out there, but they all stop at hub. I've found no real pictures of deeper down the column. The piece under the spring that I removed is definitely not automotive...lawn mower, washing machine, maybe, but it was not installed in this car new. The cancel cam was missing, so what he did was made up the difference to keep the lock tight against the clip. Now, with the "PIECE" in there, the spring, cancel cam and lock plate on.....I'm not even close to getting the clip on. And I absolutely refuse to ruin my $50 plastic cancel cam(Man, their High). A picture or a name of the part I need is all I ask....Thanks guys, does this ever end????
I think one of the pieces your talking about is this one,it goes under the big spring.
