My car keeps shutting off
My 1982 corvette won't stay running and the battery won't stay charged. Is this a battery or alternator problem? When i charge the battery the car will run for about five minutes and then shut off.

It sounds like you have a big time drain somewhere. With just a freshly charged battery and without any accessories running, the engine will run a long time. You will need a tester for alt output, or just remove and take to your local parts supplier. They will tell you how good your battery and alt is, free of charge. If they both test good, try disconnecting systems from the equation and test your battery for discharge. When it stops showing discharge, you have identified the draining/defective system and go from there. Good luck!
