did you deal with Eric? you need to call him and ask about the correct break-in procedure and make sure to explain your doing an HPDE.

Yeah I bought from Eric, he has always been very helpful and prompt. Eric did not tell me about the procedure, I'll call him tomorrow and find out more. I do have a usable set of Hoosiers that came with the car, but uncertain of how many heat cycles they have. I am used to running Toyo RA-1s and Hoosier A6's...

Ran the car for 2 sessions Sat am. The elec rad fan hardware came loose, put the fan through the rad, overheated and lost d/s head gasket!

I'll try again posting pics. I assume the original owner used the elec fan for grid/superhot days, car was running cold, then the drama. I believe we caught it in time, no hesitation, egnine noise, zero power loss. Gauge showed 220 deg. Pulled plug #1 and it had a small amount of oil-ish residue, breather tank had a small amount of "milky" oil...

Update. Motor is pulled, heads are off. Cyl #1 and #7 guides are severely worn. Having all new guides and seals installed. Plan on freshening the bottom end while I'm at it. Appears to be zero bottom end damage. Have a pic on www.matthewsbodyshop.com

If somebody is interested I have a set of Ebsilon 3 part Wheels 8.5 x 15. I bought them new in about 1982 or so the were $330 each back then. Similar to BBS of the day. I havn't got much use out of them in the last 25 years or so.

Matt, you're killing us with that teaser photo. C'mon and give us some pics of that beauty. Good luck with the freshen up and keep us posted with how it runs and PICS.
