Default Valve cover question with pics

Hello all,
I just recieved my new valve covers from Wilcox. Got them on with no problems...except...
On the passenger side, the chrome valve cover that was on there when I bought the car had some sort of pleted filter installed in the one hole. The diameter of the hole on the new cover is smaller and that filter will not fit.
So, what are my options with this hole on the new valve cover? On some cars I see another hose attached to it. My carb and intake are both aftermarket if that matters at all.

New cover

Filter on old cover

You can buy a little chrome "breather" to put in that hole. You can also buy different grommets to put in the hole to size for different breathers. Look in the Help/Motormite section of your local parts house.

Or get the correct air cleaner and hoses to fit the original figuration.

Just a chrome, filtered, breather from the parts store.

after my dad passed away last year(I'm taking care of mm now), and having a new son, i got behind on so many projects..thats why i have not been talking about it...

I was going to do a pressure test, a dyno test... and finish the front mold.... got none of it done

I have a list of 5 guys, i think you are on that list aren't you?.... that once done, and yes I still plan on finishing it... soon i hope, they will get the first run of them. if though, you can find a C4 1995 i think, CAI front part, this is what i have and modified it, i have the mold for the back part done... then you to could have one now...

medic1555, you know that one valve cover has a PCV connection and the other one gets a filtered fresh air connection? It looks like that small hole in your pic is for the PCV valve, which connects by a hose to your carb base.

The PCV is on the driver's side. That hole is the vent to the air cleaner base filtered intake. As others have said you can just vent it to the atmosphere with a cap.
