Default TBI spacers

Do you think spacers under my tbi's will have any benefit or detriment to performance and/or economy?

I cant see spacers doing anything for your perfromance that will be worth all the work you will have to do with the hood to clear it. 82's in stock form have no room to play with.

the spacers should work ,they will help some but you dont have a lot to work with for clearence.i would like to see the numbers from a dyno .before and after for spacers.they may only help in the upper rpms.

In some of the aftermarket catalogs, you see these spacers advertisied as improving performance and gas milage. I have always wondered if they actually do work, (as claimed)
I do not intend to put one on my corvette, but I have this pick-up............
I would be interested in hearing from someone that actually did install one of these spacers, (on anything) and what the results was.

Spacers are for tuning so it's a matter of testing.
A spacer works w/ the carb & intake so if the carb was not sized correctly either a spacer or another carb could do it.

For C3, one place a spacer would be expected to help is the low Torker II on a BB where an open spacer should help.

They work well on TBI trucks and cars but I think 1/2inch is about the limit under the throttle body. The injector spacer I think is the easier choice IMHO . I wouldn't expect no more than 10hp

I get really poor gas milage with this truck, a 91 Silverado 2500, X-cab. New 350 crate motor with less than 5000 miles. It runs great, but poor MPG.

I'm not trying to high-jack this thread, I just want to know if these spacers perform as claimed.
Thanks, Steve

they claim they work . how much? probably about half as much.one of the things i would check on your truck would be a new o2 sensor and and a new cat .a new exhaust may help alot .

Well, I currently have a set of 1/2" cnc milled aluminum spacers and raised injectors. Going to take the spacers off which will give me room for taller air filters. I don't use the stock air cleaner but use two free standing air cleaners. Not worried about underhood air being hot as stock intake still pulls from under hood.
