Default Aluminum Radiator

I am thinking of going electric fans with aluminum radiator on a tight budget. Has anyone tried one of these? I can't believe the price.

I know, but seriously, if the welds are good, and the history is good by other folks here, then ????? Let me give you an example. I just purchased an Orbital Buffer. 24volt portable. There were 2. One by an off-brand for $42, and one by an named brand (PC) for $149. I bought one and my son, the other. They were both the SAME buffer. We tok them apart (easy to do) and they had the identical part number for the motor. Hmmm..... THe Porter buffer for $42??

So that's why I am asking about this radiator. Anyone have experience in one or something similar?

Electric fans, aluminum radiator and tight budget are oxymorons.

Bring your factory cooling system up to snuff and you'll be fine. Way cheaper on a tight budget.

I know, but the dual fan kit on an aluminum radiator looks and performs great. I am looking to do away with the fan.

I think the *get what you pay for* is working here.

why spend the extra on aluminum.a regular radiator works verry well . how much weight do you really save.

I own a "Champion" brand 3 core from eBay... my ad looked almost identical to your listing. I have not installed it as yet but here's what I know... it is nicely welded, finished and packaged. It arrived without the slightest damage. It holds water... I checked. I also pressure tested it; and the cap it came with... all OK. The only complaint I have to this point is that the drain tap is installed on the wrong side... I may have to install a flush plug instead. I searched this and other forums before commiting to this brand and came away impressed by the cost/benefit ratio other purchasers expressed... your mileage may vary.

I've purchased some cheapie ebay radiators, but never for my Corvette. If you plan to sell the car within four years, get the cheap radiator. You may run into headaches installing it, but it will probably last about 2 years. Install another cheap radiator in 2 years, and you are still ahead. If you plan on keeping it longer than that, just get a Dewitts. I did have one cheapie that lasted only 1 year, but it was leaking from the plastic end tank.

I think I am going to take a chance for several reasons. First, I probably can still run the normal fan off the engine for now. The aluminum radiator will shed heat like nobody's business. And, (ok here is where we need to be honest) it looks good. That's right, so do the cross drilled rotors that I have and the red calipers, etc. yes they DO enhance my stopping ability, but honestly, the normal rotors and black calipers will slow me from 70 to 0 in the same time. BUT THE RED CALIPERS LOOK GREAT! SO DO THE X_DRILLED ROTORS ... whew, there it is. Face it, if we are really HONEST with each other, the raise your hand for any enhancement that you did to your vette BECAUSE it looked good? New wheels? Hmm... yep they make the car drive better. New paint? That too. There are just some mods that we all do that will enhance the performance for sure, but the main driver is the fact it LOOKS GREAT!

Yep, I am a child. Doing things for the sake of bling, but I have the best of both worlds. Performance and style. AND the cool thing is that my middle son, who just bought a Mustang GT has the same bug. He is putting dual exhausts on it, as well as a stripe, new stereo, new rims, and detailing the engine. All I can do is smile! I love it! He and I are outside working on our respective rides in the garage, paling the tunes from the 70's like Zeplin, Doobie Bros, and ZZ. And the cool thing is that, at 17 he actually likes classic rock!

Does it get any better?
