Default Input requested Stereo Issues

Hi everyone,

The bad news is my vette was broken into this week and the stereo was removed. The good news (I hope!) is I get to start my interior renovation project that I have been procrastinating on for longer than I care to mention.

My question concerns the above-mentioned project. Since I will be insulating the cockpit and replacing the carpet, this is the perfect time to do all those small projects that I have always wanted to do but did not have accessibility to get at them. Now that the CD unit has been removed for me what are your thoughts about relocating the player to the rear bins and using a remote. This would make it more secure plus free up that area of the upper console. Since I will be using a wood veneer cover, I can hack up the bezel without worrying about ruining anything. There are very few items on my car that originally came with it from the factory, so I am not concerned about being correct. The last item I would appreciate input on is the use of a self-powered bazooka type sub woofer in the rear compartment. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your input!

Ken

Ken

Thought about mounting the Kenwood Mask between the 2 rear speakers & using the remote. One amp. in the center compartment for the removable rear speakers w/ 2 long throw 4s (equil. to 2 8s) & a dome in each. They sit on a small aluminum pipe over the wheel wells w/ an aluminum bar across the top between them to keep separated. Ft. amp below CD unit.

There are so many different ways to go when it comes to audio. do you plan on putting the T tops in the back is something that you should consider if a plan is in the works for a tube type sub. There is a trend starting around here that I was considering. That is the MP3 player. The pro,s is that you eliminate the need for a cd changer. 1 MP3 disc can hold many songs lets say maybe 100 or so the down side is that for the most part or at least as far as I know it is computer music. You have to convert your music library to MP3 format. for me its not a big deal at all but it is something to consider kinda like the old days of transfering your music from acetate records to cassette tape to play in the car. Did I just date myself    :seeya
