HI all,
The front hood (bonnet) release cable broke (or got loose) and came all the way out on my 1971 LS5 454 convertible. Any suggestions on how I can get the hood to open again? thanks!
Tom
That notch thats formed in the hood, its in line with the latch. GM had to put it there for a reason. Grab a screwdriver, go easy, and see if you can pop it. Good luck.
When I had a similar problem with my 1970 coupe, I removed the fender grille and had complete access to the latch release mechanism. Simply reach up and release the latch.

When it comes to broken cables the 70-72 Vettes are the ultimate Vette as the side grille makes this task pretty easy!
