Idle speed pummits when AC on, idle speed increaser?!?!
When the AC is on, the compressor squeals in objection. My idle speed plummits to 400-500rpm from about 1150rpm.
Is there a device that when the AC is turned on, my idle speed can be sped up to compensate? If so, where can I get this part and how difficult is it to install?

Sounds like your ac compressor is seized and is not turning causing the belt to slip which is putting a great deal of drag on the engine hence the low idle.

a lot of GM cars had a throttle kicker and the only difference was the bracket, holley or Qjet. check the auto grave yards. ties into the compressor clutch wiring. new solenoids and brackets are available from holley for their carbs :chevy

There should be a solenoid on the front drivers side of the carb. As the A/C clutch is engaged it is charged(12V) by the same wire on my '78. It comes out to limit throttle linkage from returning to idle stop screw. It has a hex head on the plunger to adjust distance to set A/C on idle. Common item any Parts supplier should have one. Is it for a Holley or Q-Jet?
Hopefully the squeal is just a loose or worn belt. Does the center of the A/C pulley turn as A/C clutch engages? If it doesn't compressor might be seized. Hope that helps some.

Thanks alot fellas. It's a holley carb, and the compressor never seized while it was squeeling. It just made a god-awful noise, but at a few hundred more RPM (600rpm or so) everything was perfect. The AC parts were purchased new a few months ago.
It's good to know this part is readily available at an auto-parts store. What part should I ask them for? A throttle-kicker?
How do I install this? I have a Hayes manual, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Can someone provide me with directions?

Your compressor shouldn't load the engine THAT much. When I turn my air compressor on the engine loses at most 100RPM. You may have some problems with your idle...check the timing, and the idle mixture. How is your vacuum at idle? You shouldn't be idling at 1150...900 is even on the high side.
