Go to the "Hotrod" magazine web site and look around at the cars on there ans see what mufflers they are running.
99% are Flowmasters whether its a stocker or a fire breathing 500 horse monster.
Not 1 set of magnflaws.
But run what you want , you can always take it back to the shop and have another set put on until you find what you like.
But really a stock vette only deserves magnaflaws to keep the public attention down to a minimum.

That's what I like about my Magnaflows, they aren't as loud as a Flowmaster. I like to stay under the radar, if ya know what I mean. If you want your 'vette to be loud and obnoxious, (and I mean that in a good way!) then I guess the Flowmasters are the way to go. Ya pays yer money, and ya makes yer choice!

I just put Magnaflows and 2 1/2" mandrel bent pipes on my '80 this summer. Chambered mufflers (like FlowMrs ) drone too much. If you have a need to draw more attention to yourself and your car than a C3 inherently draws, then FlowMrs 40 mufflers will do that. They will draw more attention, but not from people who already notice and appreciate a C3 Corvette without shouting at them with a loud exhaust. I can look from one end through my Magnaflows out the other end. That's got to flow better than chambers.

I have magnaflows on my 77 auto with shorty headers and 2.5 all the way back.. this is with my zz4, and I have been told they sound great, at idle they have a great sound bt when you get on it they sure sound great... i have had tons of c5 c6 guys with the borlas and bb exhaust tell me that my system sounds great from the side and from behind me...
I myself think the flowmaster are way to loud and have a terrible drone...

and tim im sorry but not every hotrods have flowmaster... some hotrod actually want to sound good so they go with magnaflows....LOL JK..... I just like the magnas....

I have a new name for magnaflaws, I will now call them magnagrandpas.
Im telling you all again, the only reason people buy them is because Corvette parts distributors sell them and push as a replacement for a stock muffler so sheeple think its acceptable to use.
If a car showed up around here with them they would be laughed off the street because people would think you got them at the muffler/car wash/fruit stand/ tanning salon down the alley!!!!

and tim im sorry but not every hotrods have flowmaster... some hotrod actually want to sound good so they go with magnaflows.
I have yet to see a Camaro, Chevelle, Monte Carlo with magnagrandpas on it and absolutely no Mopar and well maybe a Ferd but who looks at them anyways?

I called all these people and they said they had to cut down their horsepower so they didn't get bothered by NHRA to race the top dogs so they ran magnagrandpas and lost 300 horse power and was mistakin for a horse and buggy setup!

I have Magnaflows on my 77. I've run 12.49 with them with a mild 383. I usually can't hear the boy racers with their Flowmasters because they are so far behind me.
