Well I took the dive. I bought a 69 'vette with a 350/350 4-speed. It's been "tweaked", headers, cam, manifold, carb. The interior is alittle beat up but it gives her character. I do have a few questions. The cam is a Blazer 300H, so the idle is pretty rough and doesn't like to idle when she's still cold. But even after the temp is up she won't idle for more then 2 minutes. It's not loading up, I'm pretty sure. Is this just a problem I need to live with or what. I know it need an A/F and i don't think a tune up would hurt either. Anything else i'm missing?
Oh yea, the tranny is very stiff and doesn't like to get into gear. Is there anything I can do to help it or are all these just part of driving "America's only sports car"? :chevy :chevy
Welcome
For the shifter a little lube might not hurt, small parts kits are available to rebuild them. Unless your talking about the tranny being stiff, thats a different matter.
About the idle, not sure on the cam specs so I'm not sure how "wild" it is. More info like carb type, vacuum at idle, plug condition would make tracking the problem down easier.
hope that helps .

Congrats Neighbor! (I'm right across the Bridge from you)
Ican't answer your cam q, but as far as the shifter woes, take a look underfneeth and see what shifter you have in there. If it's still the stock unit you might want to upgrade it to a Hurst. It makes a substantial difference!!!
Bring that thing out to some of the local events!!!! (Check the Northeast section - there is always something going on!!!
