Well my friends dad just bought 2 huge jugs of it, i think he will let us use it or at least let us use it for a cheap price? anyways would it be better than the norm?
I wouldnt use it to oil a bike chain. Put it in one of my 360 motors in the sprinter and it broke down almost immed. Ruined the roller lifters and cam. Sent it out to be tested as we thought that maybe we had flooded it with alky but the results could not even give us a accurate weight. Alky content was null. After futher research found out that two more of my buddies had the same problem with that crap!
Called Royal purple and all they would say was Oh well.
I would use Mobil one.
I used it in the past (when free), but no longer. I never incurred any problems with it, and have noticed Vette magazine recommend it a few times (for what it's worth).
Just saw something about it on TV yesterday (think it was hot rod tv, now there's an unbiased source).
They ran a car on a chasis dyno with brand X oil in engine, tranny, and diff and then switched to purple for the next run.
They did get an increase but I don't remember if it was a significant percentage of increase or not.
They rerun their show for an entire month; perhaps you can catch it next time.
